Project Description
The project consists of the redesigning of downtown Austin’s Seaholm Power Plant and its surrounding area. The design includes a 28-story highrise residential tower containing 298 residential units, 50,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, and 130,000 square feet of office space. The exterior program contains a one-acre plaza and a lawn for use by festivals.
Scope of Services
CDC was the singe-source, Vertical Facade Consultant to the Architect for this expansion and adaptive re-use of an existing facility in Austin, TX. During Design Development and Construction Documents phases, CDC performed drawing technical review, detail development and performance-based specification writing for the building facade systems. During Construction Administration phase, CDC reviewed Contractor submissions including shop drawings, structural calculations, and technical data, to confirm compliance with project specifications and design goals; provided in-plant observation of facade system assembly and glazing; performed on-site observation during facade, roofing and waterproofing system installation, and provided observation of water penetration testing for facade systems.
